My friends, we all work so hard to get ourselves opportunities, to get ourselves in a position where we can do something or take advantage of something that we want to that will help us with our business. But too many people, right when they get there, right when they’re on the doorstep of making happen what they’ve wanted to happen so long, they freeze, and they stop and they get filled with fear, right? Bob Proctor calls it the terror barrier. They get to a point they hit a wall. The walls are terror barrier. My friends, we’ve got to stop this. There’s too many people doing this, too many realtors doing this.
I talked to some agents today who you know getting in themselves in a position with their business where they can take advantage of something and then they get scared. Well, I don’t want it to not work out. I don’t want to not qualify. I don’t want to do a good enough job, so they just sit back and wait. I’m like, “Guys, you’re never going to get anywhere if you sit around and wait.” You’ve got to get after it when you get yourself opportunities and like, think of those times you hear stories about people say, “Well, when I got to that point, I knew I had to go for it and if I didn’t go for it, I wasn’t gonna make it or I wasn’t going to do this.”
Guys, when these opportunities come up, get after it. Get after it, don’t hesitate. Too often do I see realtors, they’ll change a company and they’ll work so hard to get themselves in a position for somewhere and then all of a sudden for something. I know I’m being a little vague, but and then they’re like, “Well, what if it doesn’t work out?” “What if, oh my god,” or “What if I get embarrassed?” Or, “What if I don’t do it the right way or this?” Enough. Stop, just get after it.
Get out there make things happen, guys. No one is going to do things for you. Here’s the truth about success my friends. It’s not easy. Don’t believe in this bullshit you hear all through, “I started the business,” “I just kill it,” “Everything’s great,” “I get up every morning, “All my buyers love me,” All my sellers love me,” “All my deals go through great,” “Everything’s great.” That’s what you crap. I don’t care what business you’re in. It’s never easy. If it was easy, everyone would be doing it.
Anytime I get frustrated or I get a little bit down about some progress or something with our company, I always say, “If it was easy, everyone would be doing it.” That’s the truth, okay? If you have reached a point in your business or you signed yourself up for some new lead channel, or you started doing some new advertisements, something. I don’t know what it could be, but when you get closer to it. It’s like you hope for it, then you get closer to it and bang. It’s like a terror barrier.
Maybe I should do it this way, “Whoa, you’re looking up, oh my God,” and the terror, the fear starts to hit you and you’re like, “I don’t know if I want to do it.” Cut it out. Cut it out, get after it, go for it. You’re never ever, ever going to hit a ball that you don’t swing for. It’s not going to happen, so just get after it. If you keep doing the same thing, you’re going to get the same results. Come with me over here. Here’s a quote up in our training center. It’s a little bit silly that there’s my name’s on the wall on our own training center with a quote, right.
I’ve got some friends that are giving me crap about it and I kind of deserve it, but, “Same equal same.” It’s the truth. If you keep doing the same thing, you’ll get the same result, so if you have an opportunity in front of you get out there and get after it my friends because if you don’t try, you’ll never get there. Okay? It’d be better to try for something and fail than never go for it at all. That’s my message today. I hope it helps. Talk to you soon.
