The Best & Worst Part of Being a Realtor

One of the worst things about being a Realtor is you have a flexible schedule and you can set it yourself. Do you know what I mean by that? Anthony Lamacchia here with Crushing It Real Estate, and I’ve said this in a number of office visit meetings with agents in the last couple of weeks, and they’ve all laughed and said, “Yes, yes, you’re right about that.”

Folks, what I mean by that is the flexibility is part of what makes many Realtors have an up-and-down life. It makes it so that they don’t have consistency. Why? Because they’re not consistent with their habits. Their choice management is not on track. Notice I didn’t say time management. Their choice management is not habitual. It’s not on track. It’s not disciplined, okay?

When you are in charge of your own schedule, that can be a very exciting thing. That’s actually getting easier now that homes are on the market a little bit longer, and there’s a little bit more inventory, and you don’t have to get over there in five minutes. The downside of this is many Realtors don’t hold themself accountable. They don’t have daily habits and they are not always prospecting.

All those things I said that many aren’t is what you need to be. You need to hold yourself accountable. You need to prospect every single day. You need to make dials every single day and connect with people. Don’t let the reason you got in the business for flexibility in being in charge of your own schedule ruin your business. Keep that in mind, folks. Happy home selling. Have a great day.
