Anthony Lamacchia: Clients come and go, but realtors are around forever. Okay, maybe not forever, but you need to think that way. I’m still seeing too many realtors mistreat one another, argue about stupid things, demonize one another, getting to arguments and pissing contests about nothing, and then forget that six months from now, you might have an offer on that agent’s listing.

They may have an offer on you. And folks, we’ve got a fiduciary duty to do what’s in the best interest of our clients, whether or not we realtors like one another. So stop, take a breath, talk.

Human beings have disagreements. Things come up, there are mix-ups. I see more mix-ups because of texting and emailing than anything else.

Get on the phone, explain the background about your client. Hear out what they explain about their client. And don’t be so quick to fight, because if you go around picking fights, demeaning others, mistreating others, what goes around comes around.

Eventually, it’s going to get you. We’re headed into the time of year, well, we’re there now. Inventory’s low, homes are gonna start coming on, multiple offers are going to be everywhere, and that’s when the friction begins.

Listing agents, don’t get overly cocky. Remember, when you have the buyer and the shoe is on the other foot, you know how it feels. Keep all that in mind, good luck, happy home selling.
